Background

UB 310/151 Auch (Horseshoe) Viaduct forms part of Network Rail’s CP6 Year 1 to carry out refurbishment of the existing bridge structure.

The Viaduct is a multi span railway bridge which is part of the WHL, West Highland Line between Upper Tyndrum Station and Bridge of Orchy Station.

Project Summary

Westlin Rail were commissioned by Story Scotland to carry out the installation of replacement hardwood timber deck designed to accommodate full LM71 railway live loading in accordance with Eurocodes. Excavate to formation level without undermining the piers

All works completed safely ahead of the programmed period and within project budget in challenging logistical and access conditions.
240 timber prepared and installed during a blockade
